Over the past nine years, Impact100 has evolved from a start-up, grass roots organization to a respected funder in the Philadelphia region and an active participant in the growing national women’s philanthropy movement. Most notably, we have awarded more than $2 million in grants to 31 non-profits in the region.
At the same time, we have faced the challenges that any organization experiencing rapid growth has confronted, especially when the world around us is changing just as rapidly.
In 2015, the Board of Directors began a year-long strategic planning process to address these changes to make sure that Impact100 is securely poised to meet the future.
Two significant changes emerged from this process:
- First, a membership contribution will now include not only $1,000 for the collective grants, but also a $150 fee to support Impact100 operating expenses. This fee will help offset administrative and technology costs associated with running our growing organization.
- Second, Impact’s $100,000 grants are no longer limited to fund only new or expanded projects, but are dedicated to supporting an applicant’s core mission. The grant may be used to support primary programs or services, necessary improvements to infrastructure, or other initiatives to strengthen the nonprofit in its work. The grant period for core mission grants is 24 months.
We are confident that the work we did – research, planning and implementation – positions Impact100 to face the next ten years with even greater strength, purpose, and organization.
