Impact100 Seminars
We anticipate conducting two educational programs each year. Once a year, we expect to offer a presentation to members on a general philanthropic subject. We conduct surveys of members about topics that interest them. In addition, each spring, Impact100 conducts training seminars for members about grant proposal review and evaluation, and strategies for successful site visits.

PREVIOUS TRAINING WORKSHOPS:

The Art of Proposal Evaluation: The featured speaker, Martie Gillin Bernicker, is a private philanthropy consultant. The workshop, conducted in February, taught participants how to fairly and effectively evaluate grant proposals. It helped Impact members to learn more about the nuances of grantmaking. Highlights included:
  • Proposal review is an art, not a science.

Joan led two workshops in January aimed at helping members understand the lessons behind the numbers. These workshops emphasized the need for women to understand a non profit's financial position as part of being strategic and informed philanthropists. Members learned how to read and interpret financial information included in grant proposals.
