Opportunities
As a member of Impact100
Philadelphia you can be as involved as you like. Committees are formed annually
for each of the five Focus Areas and members have the opportunity to fully
participate in the grant-making process by reviewing proposals and attending
site visits for applicant organizations. Women who do not have the time or
opportunity to participate in the Focus Area Committee process can still be
involved in other committees and by voting at the annual meeting where a finalist
in each Focus Area will make a presentation to the membership.
Focus Area Committees (FAC): If you are interested in learning
more about philanthropy and the nonprofits in our community, you may want
to consider participating on one of the Focus Area Committees. Focus Areas
include Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family and Health &
Wellness. On your membership form, you were asked if you would like to serve
on a FAC and to indicate which ones are of interest.
If you wish to serve on a FAC, you will be asked to complete and sign
a form stating that you have read and understand our
FAC Policy Statement. This disclosure form
will ask you to determine if you have a Strong Affiliation with
any of the nonprofits submitting a grant application for your FAC.
If there is potential for a conflict of interest within your assigned
committee, you may be asked to select another committee on which to serve.
FAC members will receive orientation and training about our grant-making
process, will have the opportunity to evaluate
Full Proposals, make site visits and help determine the finalists
for each Focus Area.
Email is essential to the regular communication of the committees and to efficient
distribution of grant materials. Email distribution helps Impact100 minimize
overhead costs. If you do not have access to email, this does not preclude
participation on a committee, but communication may not be as timely
as for others.
Members also may volunteer to help plan our events, including educational
programs and the Annual Meeting where we vote to select
the organization(s) to receive the grant. You can also volunteer to help promote
Impact100 Philadelphia to other women and increase our membership. We hope
in the near future to be able to make multiple $100,000 grants each year.
Impact100 Philadelphia seeks to engage women in philanthropy to benefit the
Philadelphia region. In addition, we hope to raise awareness among our members
of the needs in our community and the many worthwhile nonprofit organizations
striving to address those needs. This knowledge may inspire you to become
involved with them in a more personal way.
If you have questions regarding the FACs or other volunteer opportunities,
or want to become involved, please contact us at
